Mini Pocketbook #10 : COVID19

“Mom, it’s been a while we didn’t go at the park to stretch our leg.”, says Matey.

“Yes, that is true.”

“And I’d like to go with Daddy at the grocery.”, replies Salty.

“I understand, but we prefer you don’t go in shopping centers.”

Kids have been in isolation (voluntary) on the boat for 25 days now. They know about the Coronavirus as it created much grief that their Pappy and Granny could not fly to cross the Pacific with us.

It also shows in their behavior that they don’t get to move physically (water in Panama city anchorage is pretty uninspiring) :

“It’s MY CAR! I LOVE PINK!” screams Salty.

“It’s MYYYYYY CARRRRRR I SAID!!!! I LOVE PINK TOO!” yells Matey.

“You are NOT MY FRIEND ANYMORE.”

“ME TOO, YOU – ARE – NOT – MY – FRIEEEEENNNNNND!!!”

“Mommy, can I play with Zoe and Joss today?” asks Salty

“No honey, they are in Galapagos. It’s a week sailing away.”

Sally thinks, disappointed.

Life is so much quieter aboard when these two invents games to no ends

“Ok Mateo, you can have the pink car, but I’ll have it 2 minutes FIRST.”

Only friend available for now, it forces compromises!

“Mommy can we jump on your bed.” says Matey.

They need to stretch out. Especially Matey…

“Yes.”

“YEAHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”

“Mommy can we jump here?” he asks again.

‘Yes.”

“Mommy can we go on deck to run?”

“Yes, I’ll go watch you, Matey!”

“Mommy, can I go without my underwear?”

“Yes…eeehhhhhh NOOO!!!! You need underwear, there are boats around here! None of them wants to see your private parts Matey.”

“Ahhhhhhrrrr, I cannot do anything!”
